The sea route across the Mediterranean to Europe is one of the most dangerous escape routes in the world and often the last chance for many people to escape war, persecution and hunger. As more and more women and their children have to make this journey, the crew of a sea rescue ship now increasingly includes midwifes.

The documentary feature film “Women On The Move” follows the work of one of these midwives. It gives female survivors the opportunity to tell their story and shows the strength and courage of these women on the move.
